Can Supplements Boost Testosterone Levels?

To Testosterone plays a bigger role in our overall health than you might think. It’s a critical hormone for both men and women and influences a variety of bodily functions including mood, fat distribution and of course, fertility. But can we increase our testosterone levels using supplements? Here’s everything you need to know.

What Is Testosterone?

Testosterone is a primary sex hormone which is made by cholesterol. In women, the ovaries make a small amount of testosterone to support reproductive tissues, bones health and energy levels.

Male testosterone levels are significantly higher women’s, and heavily impact a range of factors such as bone density, hair growth and mood or depression levels. 1

Can I Tell If My Testosterone Levels Are Low?

Your testosterone levels can be measured by a simple blood test. Studies show that as men age, testosterone levels drop gradually, by about 1% to 2% each year. 2

Low levels of testosterone can cause a variety of symptoms in men, including:

  • Decreased sex drive
  • Less energy
  • Weight gain
  • Depression
  • Less body hair
  • Weak bones

Women with low levels of testosterone may experience reduced bone strength and depression.

Can I Have Too Much Testosterone?

It’s less common for adults to make too much testosterone, however, polycystic ovary syndrome is an indicator of high blood levels of testosterone in women.

Excess amounts of testosterone in men can lead to decreased sperm production, sleep issues, aggressive behaviours, and an increase in muscle mass and oily skin.

Can Supplements Support Testosterone Levels?

Our intake of vitamins and minerals can impact our natural testosterone levels. This is where supplements can help.

T-Perform Capsules

Zinc is a key mineral in enabling the body to produce testosterone. Although zinc deficiency is uncommon, boosting your zinc intake can support testosterone.

There is also an association between vitamin D and testosterone levels (3). Vitamin D deficiency is more common in men than women and as more individuals spend their time indoors, deficiency numbers are rising.

Myvitamins T-Perform Capsules contain 10 vegan-friendly active ingredients including zinc, vitamin D and ginseng extract. We’ve also added D-Aspartic Acid- a natural amino acid that can boost low testosterone levels. T-Perform Capsules are a convenient way to support your hormone health every single day.

ZMA Capsules

Magnesium is a mineral involved in different functions in the body, including hormone production. Adding a magnesium supplement to your routine can help to increase testosterone levels. Plus, when you exercise, you can see even better results with magnesium supplements. 4

Myvitamins ZMA Capsules provide a blend of nutrients that can support your everyday wellbeing and your testosterone health. This expert formulation maintains cognitive function, supports energy levels, and boosts testosterone and hormone production. 4
